Our fresh, freeze dried food looks a bit like trail mix. You’ll see colorful pieces of fruits and vegetables, along with dried pieces of meat and puffed grains. Once you add the recommended amount of water to the bowl of food, the individual pieces will soften as they absorb moisture.
Fetch A Bowl custom dog food comes in a package that can be stored in your cupboard, pantry or favorite container. We deliver your custom recipe just after it’s made at our facility in the Midwest. From there, the freeze dried or dehydrated ingredients remain fresh during transportation and delivery to your door. Fetch A Bowl food could stay on your shelf for months, even years, and still be tasty and nutritious. But we bet your dog will want to dig in right away.
No, and isn’t that a relief? Unlike other custom dog foods, Fetch A Bowl requires no freezing or refrigeration to stay fresh and healthy. Our freeze drying and dehydrating lock in all the nutrients of our farm-fresh ingredients and makes our food shelf stable. No more giving up freezer or refrigerator space to dog food.
No. Because the food isn’t frozen or packed in coolers, there’s no need for you to rush home for a delivery. Fetch A Bowl’s shelf stable food isn’t fussy about temperature. Just bring it inside when you get home.
Written instructions for making the switch to Fetch A Bowl are included in each package (and available online here). For most dogs, it’s a very smooth transition. Then you can look forward to benefits for your dog like bright eyes, healthy coat and less waste to bag.
To ensure that every recipe created through Fetch A Bowl contains balanced nutrition, we offer a specially formulated vitamin and nutrient supplement for each dog. Just follow the instructions included with your shipment. Most dogs need a piece or two from the easy-to-use dispenser in each bowl of food. It’s that simple!

You can’t go wrong. Here’s why: Our vets and pet nutritionists formulate a supplement just for your dog that’s included in every shipment. Just add the recommended number of supplement pieces to the food each day and rest easy that your dog is getting everything needed for good health. Our recipes meet or exceed standards set by AAFCO for all life stages. The supplement is also shelf stable.
Absolutely! You can change the recipe with each shipment if you’d like. If your dog leaves the apple pieces behind, choose a different fruit next time or leave fruit out all together. Want to make seasonal changes to mix things up or to support varying activity levels? It’s easy to create and label new recipes. They will be saved in your account, so you can go back and choose Fluffy’s Autumn Pumpkin Mix, for instance, at a later time.
Yes, thanks to the Bowl Builder questions you answered. Our pet nutritionists pay attention to your dog’s age and weight when recommending portion size. The supplement included with your food delivery also ensures your dog gets the exact nutrition needed. We watch for major life changes, too, like from puppy to adult dog. These changes may trigger a change in portion size or prescribed supplement. You can always update your dog’s weight in your account at any time.
Yes, just give each recipe a name that helps you remember whose food is whose. Each dog will also receive an individual supplement as well.

No, because unlike other fresh custom dog foods, Fetch A Bowl is shelf stable, not frozen. You’ll receive an easy-to-recycle cardboard box with a bag of food and a tub of vitamin supplements inside. No wasteful styrofoam, ice packs or extra packaging. And you don’t need to worry about rushing home to receive a delivery. Just bring the box inside when you get home.
We use major U.S. carriers to deliver food from our facility in Ohio to your doorstep. Unfortunately, we cannot ship to a P.O. box or outside the U.S. at this time.
To keep your food and supplements fresh, we typically ship the food your dog needs for four weeks at a time. Your subscription will be automated so you don’t need to remember to re-order. Look for emails to let you know when we start creating your dog’s food and when it is ready to ship.
For food safety reasons and like other customized products, we don’t accept returns. But, if you are not satisfied with Fetch A Bowl and would like to receive a refund please see question 5 below.
We guarantee you and your dog’s enjoyment. Contact customer service if you are not satisfied with Fetch A Bowl. Please keep in mind that some dogs may need time to adjust to a new food. It’s important to follow the feeding guidelines included with your Fetch A Bowl shipment. You can also refer to our feeding tips for transitioning your dog to a new food.

You can skip, cancel, pause or change your custom dog food subscription at any time through your customer account. If you know you’ll be away from home for an extended period, you can order food in advance so you’ll have plenty on hand. Fetch A Bowl food is shelf stable, so it will stay fresh until you are ready to serve it.

Fresh, customized dog food is an investment in your dog’s health. Prices start at just $2 per meal for fresh, shelf-stable food made according to recipes you choose specifically for your dog.
Every four weeks, a shipment of food will be automatically sent to your home and charged to your credit card on file. You can pause or cancel your order at any time if necessary. You will receive emails when your next batch of food is being created and at various times in the order fulfillment process.
